I'm going on a date tonight

I just have to make a post saying how grateful I am to get to go on a date tonight. I didn't have to call an unrelieble resource person from Foster Care to make this NOT happen either!

One thing about Foster Care is it is incredibly annoying to try and get a sitter. But now I don't have to have anyone approved officially or anything. LIFE IS GOOD.

So tonight?

I think sushi is in order. Oh yeah!

Christmas Songs

Yeah, they are already playing Christmas songs. CRAZY!

My faves:

"Silent Night" as you know from a previous post.
"What Child is This?"
"Happy Christmas"
"Little Dummer Boy"
"Mary Did You Know?"

Had to Post David Archuleta singing this song.

Here is one that has different variations
"Glory to the Newborn King"

The one I've heard:
Mary had a pretty little baby
OoOoo Glory hallelujah
OoOooOoo Glory hallelujah
Glory to the New Born King

What will you call your pretty little baby?
OoOoo Glory hallelujah
OoOooOoo Glory hallelujah
Glory to the New Born King

Some will call him Savior, I will call him Jesus
OoOoo Glory hallelujah
OoOooOoo Glory hallelujah
Glory to the New Born King

Anyone know that song differently?

It is the verses as I remember them from something the Anderson Stake in Northern CA do annually. It's called "Journey to Bethlehem." I really miss that Christmas tradition.

Anyway, I guess I'm done posting fave's for the night.

Have to be honest

You people who read my blog are great because honestly I am really extremely bad when it comes to posting pictures. I have such a bad attention span myself so reading blogs that don't have large words and pictures scattered throughout makes it difficult for me to concentrate. I have difficulty reading long posts in only one font, font size, and font color through out without breaking it up.

Just to be totally random

I'm voting for this kid for president.

Yeah, I posted the picture small. Sue me. =)

"You Are Special"

Have you ever read the book: "You are Special" by Max Lucado?

It is a story about these woodedn people who go around putting dots and stars on each other. The dots are not good but the stars are. One wooden person got so many dots and didn't have any stars at all. He felt bad about himself. Then he met a wooden girl who had no dots or stars. She didn't let them fit because she knew her maker and she knew her true worth. She made the wooden person with so many dots feel like learning how to not make his dots stick.

Anyway, the reason I tell this story is because there are so many bloggers out there who pretty much give each other "stars" for their blogs. These stars come in the form of awards. Don't get me wrong, I think competition can be fun. . . but I don't think the reason for blogging should necessarily be for that kind of recognition.

I blog so that I can find people to relate to, especially when having to do with infertility and Foster Care.

I also love reading the mommy blogs that tell how mommy life really is. Especially when you see the everyday "Oh crap!" kind of stuff. Because us mommies, we all know how it goes. Like "Oh crap, Jason drew on the wall AGAIN!" Seriously happens a lot! OR. . . "How did my laundry pile get so big?" I mean, it totally represents the mommy procrastination. . . or should I say just how lazy mommy can be!?

When it comes down to it I just want to find people who are human, people who truly have flaws and are still trying and still positive despite all of that.

Just REMEMBER, you are all special because you are God's and he made you. Not because you have numerous awards for whatever it may be.

"It Shouldn't Cost to Care"???

I got this message for the Foster Adoption group, and man am I furious! Go ahead and read:
I took a teenager into my home as a foster child. She was a childhood friend of my daughters. They were friends since elementary. She lived with her ailing grandmother. Her Dad, a war veteran, was deceased. And she never remembered ever seeing her mom. The girl was 15 and I went to a court date and asked if I could take her in. In between these times she stayed with family members who warned me not to take her in. I felt it my duty to try, so I was given custody of her from court, instead of her going into the system. yada yada yada. She didn't go to school (although I took her every morning) and she was caught stealing at the local walmart. To make a longer story shorter. I had to take her to court, and they kept her. She was placed in custody. I was sent a bill for her stay in Juivenille Hall. and this seemed to be the norm, from the stories I got from the other people at the payment office. It just made me weary of helping others. Its a shame because it shouldn't cost to care.

You better believe it costs to care! and YES it SHOULD cost to care. If you take a child into your home as your own you better treat that child as your own. . . COSTS included. Sometimes it is not until after the costs that the child truly knows how much you love them. You better be working with them instead of against them. Stop acting like a martyr and treat the child like you care about them rather than that they just ruined your life!

done venting

I Guess the Blogging Bug has Bit me Again and I'm BACK!

I know I keep saying I'm going to post more and for a while there I really hadn't followed through on that. Now though, I just feel like I could type and type. I feel like the world around me is opening up again to new possibilities and I'm just loving the fact that I have a family and the kids are here to stay.

I have been having a flow of ideas now for a while. I've been trying to organize the ideas into something more. I'm still molding a lot. I'm loving how my couriosity has seemed to expand for the better.

On a side note, I had an idea. . . I thought up how it was going to work and everything. It got very detailed. But guess what??? It is already in existance! =( Boohoo. I was going to get a patent on it and everything.

Here it is:
The Digital Recipe Reader

Ah well! What can I do? I guess I can help promote it, I actually wanted one of these things on numerous occasions as I was making meals with many recipes involved. That's when I came up with the idea.

Anyway, maybe I'll be inspired with something someone else has not come up with someday.
